For the “Wonderland” exhibition from November 19 to December 11, 2016 in Seoul, Hermès Paris organized an opening night in a brick-clad space and wanted to incorporate retro-style pixel art games.

The Hermès Paris art department entrusted Reciproque with the design and creation of a game, giving the following instructions: Pixel, Fun, Horse, Paris. Building on its previous collaboration with the Hermès team during the Post-Party event in Shanghai, Reciproque designed for “Wonderland” a game with a simple and intuitive gameplay, with just one button for each player. Lasting a short 60 seconds, each round can accommodate up to 5 players, for a game that is as fun to watch as it is to play. Designed using pixel art and flashy colors, the game’s setting features iconic Paris monuments (the Arc de Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower, etc.).

Reciproque is behind the game’s design, graphic design, development and sound design, in collaboration with its partner Audiogaming.

The primary 5-player version of the game was broadcasted on a 5-meter projection screen, and a 2-player version was also available on a 16/10 screen. Screens featuring running horses were also spread throughout the space.

Life-sized decorative print-outs from the game were also used to adorn the photobooth for the evening.
